Hi all. I just got this tank yesterday. What is the trick to get these caps off?
Also, #6 says tilt it 1/4 inch per foot. Is that per foot of length of the whole tank?
Thank you!

They pry out. Punch a hole in the center with a beater screw driver, grab the lip with pliers. Considering you never did this before, keep in mind there's one on the bottom, too. Has to be removed and plugged or used, depending on how your piping up the burner. Same for any unused ports.
Hopefully you do it by code...minimum pipe sizes, swing joints, whistle, proper venting, proper piping to burner, etc.
Almost every tank has moisture in it. Drain that out too, and put a bottle of additive in for the first fill.
There was an error rendering this rich post.

If you figure it for the distance between the sets of feet, it'll pitch the whole tank that much. E.g. if the tank feet are 4' apart, one set of feet should be 1" higher than the other. That'll pitch the whole tank at ¼"/ft.kordic1984 said:Also, #6 says tilt it 1/4 inch per foot. Is that per foot of length of the whole tank?
NB: Check the floor level. You will likely have to compensate for that as well.

Don't forget the one on the bottom or you will end up with a wooden plug stuffed in your tank.0
