Steam Air Vents spitting water and hissing

a few days ago we had a guy check on our boiler because it was consuming too much water and kept triggering the low water cut off. after a thorough inspection he replaced all the air vents with the following https://www.zoro.com/watts-steam-vent-valve-angle-18-in-mpt-18-sv/i/G3230455/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=surfaces&utm_campaign=shopping%20feed&utm_content=free%20google%20shopping%20clicks&gclid=Cj0KCQiAraSPBhDuARIsAM3Js4q-eGV2hurm-L_hTct_sJ2w3EFWuR1hUgsIJdEmE6MWIr1xg511tsIaAl1dEALw_wcB. so ever since then the boiler consumes a lot less water but the spitting and hissing is annoying. granted they are supposed to hiss but the old valves never hissed to this extent. the pressuretrol is set to 1 psi main and about 2 psi diff. the pressuretrol has bene like this for years now so idk what could be the issue

Boiler pressure is still too high -- if it's the ordinary sort of pressuretrol (blue grey box, one scale on the front) try lowering that cutin on the front to about 0.7 psi, and change the differential (inside) to 1 instead of 2.

Do try to get a handle on the water use -- anything over a gallon a week is excessive, and a gallon a month or less is desirable.
