Baseboard heater thermostat

in THE MAIN WALL
Kitchen has two baseboard heaters on one thermostat. Thermostat has to be replaced. Need wiring help or diagram.

    What kind of baseboard heaters? Electric? If so, what is the power (amps and voltage, or voltage and kilowatts).

    Is there a good reason why you can't simply replace the old thermostat with a new one of the same rating?
