HX for Steam to Water

Hi All.
I have a system out there that i have inherited to care for.
Peerless 63 series steamer w/ a hot water loop off the side.
Brazed plate HX to feed the system off the condensate. Overall installed well.
here's the issue.... After2-3 months of running in season the customer complains that the baseboard is not getting warm enough. I run over and the BPHX is mucked up.
I flush it out and all is fine...until it happens again.
I have flushed out the steam side and didnt make much difference.
Thoughts?
Is there a more robust HX to use?
TY, kevin

Checkout Everhot copper shell in tube hx. I’ve installed a ton of them and they work perfectly.4

Are you pumping the steam side or is it gravity?0 -
@kcopp
I am assuming that @EzzyT is reffering to the Everhot "external tankless water heater". Those certainly should not plug as fast as a plate & frame.
I assume you are coming out of the boiler just below the water line and pumping back in down low to keep head on the pump with the pump on the lower connection0 -
Or other shell and tube hx
Or put a tankless coil in the boiler as a hx if one is available and the plate on the boiler looks like it would come off.0 -

I have a water loop on my 63 with no issues so far (although I'm pumping directly from the boiler to the loop, no exchanger) so I have some questions for you:
Which port on the boiler are you pumping from? What is the PH of the boiler water?NJ Steam Homeowner.
