Apparently Nordine products might have that problem also.
Had a drain pan melt thru and AC cond running down thru furnace.
This was in an unoccupied house that had blower motor failure and the unit probably cycled on high limit multiple times.
So that toasted the pan.
Problem was noticed after blower motor repaired and AC season started.
Seems like the furnace should have locked out after so many limit events??
Fortunately was able to replace pan by just lifting coil, no blind screws in the back.0 -
The limit is just in series with the valve so the control has no idea that the valve turned off on high limit, right?0

FIRC, if any limit opens, and there may be 4 to 5 of them, the board sees this and forces both the blower motor and inducer fan motor go to high speed until the limit is reset.
Gravity flow of air thru furnace would eventually cool the limit down.
So this may, perhaps, continue indefinitely.
It must have went on a while until the blower failure was noticed.0
