new crown Bermuda bsi172

new crown Bermuda bsi172 a gas steam boiler:
couple of questions
is it normal for the low water cutoff to be installed sideways ?

is a little surface rust normal for a brand new boiler?

thanks in advance to all

Surface rust? On what? Pictures of the rust so we can see the location would help.

I'm assuming a probe type LWCO, if so being sideways shouldn't impact function, just looks off.

hi thanks i will try to get photos , i did speak with crown they said it is normal and that they season the iron ???
but the photos may be hard to get. Can be seen only through small opening. If I had to describe it, it's like a lit dusting on about half the body of the boiler and can be seen again lightly on tap outs, such as pressure valve opening, and drain opening
