That peach colored floor tile reminds me of my parent's bathroom circa 1963 :)

Why a bead of silicone? To hide the leak from you better in the future? :)

Good point. I left the back of the toilet (facing the wall) open with no silicone. Also the floor isn't 100% level so the silicone will help with that.

Once the toilet has been rocking around in the wax it is really time to replace it, it is one time use. If the nuts are tight enough and the floor is solid enough the nuts should be putting more tension on the bolts than usage does. When the tension from using the toilet exceeds the tension from the nut, that is when the fasteners back off. That could be caused by not tightening them enough or by an uneven floor or loose flange that lets the toilet move.

I agree with everything you said. I'm going to see how things go these next couple of weeks.

It's more a 1955 pink .. Vintage :) Then again we have a 1986 Kitchen Aid Imperial 21 dishwasher that is not water saving or energy efficient and it works like a charm!

They don't make them as they used to.

Anyone have direct experience with this ...

Combo of wax seal at the flange, different seal with the toilet that claims to be wiggle tolerate.
