Is this a DIY? Probably not...

In that case, you don't want to shop by the brand name of the boiler. You want to shop the installing contractor. A total hack can install the best-reviewed, most expensive, longest-lasting, most-efficient boiler in the market and you will end up with a piece of JUNK.

If you have an experienced professional that does quality work and can verify that by consumer reviews and personal recommendation by a trusted source, then any brand that guy/gal recommends will be the best option for you.

That said, I like Crown Boiler of Philadelphia. They recently changed their name to Velocity Boiler works. They have a complete line of Gas Fired boilers from lower-cost basic cast iron boilers all the way up to Modulating-Condensing boilers with the lowest operating cost.

I would stay away from Combi boilers from any manufacturer. Bosch/Buderus is another good quality manufacturer

Before you install any boiler you should investigate why the Lochinvar failed.

    How old is it?

    How is your water quality?

You want to do everything to prevent failure of the new boiler you install
