Baseboard heating water noise.

in Oil Heating
My house has fin tube baseboard heat. I've been living here for 24 years and just recently I've been hearing the water moving through the lines. It sounds as if the system is low on water and is filling the pipes back up. Because I've never heard this in all the years I've lived here, I have to wonder if something is wrong with the system. TIA for any help.

Could be... somewhere on the boiler there should be a pressure and temperature gauge. Granted, it may not be all that accurate -- they usually aren't, even when they work -- but if you could take a look at it and tell us what the pressure is when the system is cool, and again when it's heating, and what the temperature is we can get a little further here.Br.
