Loud banging from radiators

Hi all, we moved into a 117 year old limestone house last summer and this is our first time with steam heat. I have been able to figure out some of the issues we are having, but, nothing I have found on the internet provides advice on fixing the loud banging in the Rads. I’ve gone through house and let some water out of each Rad until it was hot. Now all but one heat up, that’s actually a plus, we had a few others not heating up as well. The rads don’t have air release valves, it is a two pipe system so apparently it isn’t required. I’ve checked the plum on all Rads and 6 of the 17 are off plum. Would this be causing sound in the system even in plum radiators?

I am assuming this is 2 pipe steam?
If so it should pitch toward the return on the radiator. A picture of a radiator would help a lot. Also numerous other possible issues that would cause water or steam to go places it shouldn't.0
