The mercury thermostat is compatible with Taco Zone Controls. What is the problem you are experiencing?

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

A thermostat is only a switch. It doesn't matter what kind of thermostat -- from an antique bimetal to mercury to the latest whizzy thing from Silicon Valley. It's a switch. It's either on or off. As @EdTheHeaterMan says, what's the problem you are experiencing?

try jumping the R-W to see if the control works, if it does issue is with the t-stat. Could have a short in the wire.

This is a test of the HH emergency alert system. This is only a test.

    BEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeP

This concludes this test of the HH emergency alert system. If @ballpeene had an actual emergency they would have replied to the several posts left by Wallies that endeavored to help them. In the event of an actual problem, @ballpeene will return with more information.

I love these tests. It lets me know that the system is working... You know like when we all got under our desks in school in the 1960s. Like our school desk will keep us safe from a nuclear explosion! "Thank you Mr. Gorbachev"
