y strainers constantly getting dirty

Have a problem with y strainers getting dirty and blocking up the condensate return causing my steam coils not to heat up what can I do to clean it up

Take things apart and thoroughly flush your coils and returns. The grunge isn't in the steam -- that's distilled water -- so it has to be coming from corrosion in the returns and, possibly, the coils. You may even find that the grunge is masking some badly corroded returns...Br. Jamie, osb

Usually when that happens you have a system that is using excessive make up water.
You can put blow down valves on the strainers if you don't have them. Install a larger y strainer bushed down will give you more dirt capacity.
Remove the strainers basket and put a temp blow down line on the strainer open up the steam and give it a good blow,maybe that will get rid of most of it1
