UFT80 slight knocking sounds

I’ve noticed my UFT80 occasionally makes a slight knocking sound when firing at low rates. Not very loud and comes and goes. Sound seems to be coming from the top of the firing chamber and reminds me a bit of expanding metal knocks.
System is running fine with no performance issue.

Is this typical system noise?

Hard to say without actually hearing it.

I have noticed that some fire tube HXs have a slight popping and cracking noise which is probably caused by micro bubbles. It seems that no matter how good the MBR works, they do it anyway. It could also be micro steam flashes in miniature crevices of the HX that don't get good flow.

Thanks @Ironman. Def could be air related noise. I’ll try to record a sample. Very subtle noise, hopefully can pick it up over the background sound of the Grundfoss Alpha2. It’s also very quiet with a slight ticking noise when running.

If everything is functioning as it should, I wouldn't worry about it. It seems to be the nature of the beast.
