Rust on bottom of Peerless boiler, 40 years old

There is a spot of rust maybe 5 inches by 3 inches on the bottom. The repair person said the boiler is on its way out. I'd like to know how much time I might have to get a new one. Have a photo.

Is this rust spot dripping? Is it growing? How long are you wanting to push it? I would think you'd be OK for the rest of this winter. Were you hoping for more?NJ Steam Homeowner.
