Viessmann Vitodents actual heating output
Is there a way to see boiler actual/current heating output at? I have a 100 kBTU boiler. I found a setting in level 2 config which limits max output to 73%, which is more than enough for my 4 bedroom house.
Out of curiosity, I like to see what is the actual heating output at any given moment. In Trinitiy Ti150 boiler I put in my old house it was very easy to see - the screen been rotating a few numbers and one of them was the "gas valve" (100-240 range). So if I see 240, I knew it puffing at the full speed (which happened only in DHW mode).
I am curious to see how close my Viessmann come to it's heating limits.

I don't think this model has this feature.
Now, when you said you found a setting in level 2, was it address 6F?0 -
It's actually not all that hard -- with the right measuring devices. What you need is the delta T across the boiler (inlet to outlet) -- which is easy to get -- and the actual flow rate, which is not so simple, but accurate flow measuring devices do exist. Then just use the standard hydronic formula, and that is your real output.Br. Jamie, osb

Jamie Hall,
LOL
PS. That was a joke , right?0 -

No, I understood you to be interested in the actual output of the boiler to the heating system. That will give you the real world output.Br. Jamie, osb

I think in level 2 you only control the max output for DHW production. For spacing heating you have to press some buttons on the control panel to bring up that option.Tarpan said:

8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour
Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab0 -
Jamie Hall,
This will NOT give the actual output of the system. This is no more than an averaged guestimate.

Alan,
This register is for setting up the max output. I am not sure what it info has to do with my question.0 -
My boiler has a screen that shows a percentage output.
8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Which model and generation of Vitodens? My understanding is that some of them can provide that information, and some cannot. On the original Vitodens 200 introduced in 2003 (current one is 3 model revisions since then) I believe that I can access that information only be going into the security coded programming/troubleshooting section.

Alan: Just curious if you know why your boiler at 100% firing rate? Which boiler is it and why is it not modulating? My boiler has a screen that shows a percentage output.

What’s the actaul model number? When you type 100,000 btu I’m thinking you have a 26kw? I was on a B2HB 26 the other day, computer maxes out at 75%. The same computer unit for the 26 and 35. I wish their computer logic was a little finer

@PerryHolzman: That's an image from the Viessmann service manual, but I can imagine 100% on a closely sized boiler on a design day or a continuous draw of DHW.8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour
Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab0 -
Perry you’re on a modulation binge😀. If the system has been down for a while and the house cooled off, it will go max EASILY. You gotta get out to the jobs more often0

Nice!My boiler has a screen that shows a percentage output.
Mine Doesn't do that.

I believe "A" stands for 1st gen
Any idea where? What register/address?PerryHolzman said:I believe that I can access that information only be going into the security coded programming/troubleshooting section.
