HTP EFTU a Very Impressive Boiler

We just replaced an old cast iron boiler on a converted gravity system with this EFTU. I’m impressed with its design and price point. With a built in Taco ECM, fire tube HX and ease of service and installation, this is our new choice.

The onboard circulator will do the indirect plus a normal single zone space heating loop without the need for p/s. That eliminates two pumps and two sets of iso flanges that’s needed with the UFT.

We ordered a spare replacement circulator with the first two of these because a standard circulator won’t fit back in. Just being prepared for the worst case scenario.

The bucket was just temporary.

Nice clean install as always @Ironman.
We have not installed any of the EFTU but have installed the ELU which have the exact same features as the EFTU.

We actually moved the boiler into a small area that was originally the coal bin to free up some space for the HO.

This is where the old boiler and water heater were. The new one is on the other side of the wall to the left.

Nice installation Bob.  What’s the BTU size if that unit? Do you have a before picture of system?

It’s 85k btus. It’s an old converted gravity system like yours.

I forgot the before pic. It was just a 28 year old rebadged Utica cast iron.

Same age as the NY boiler I replaced.   Which I’ve broken down and working out which strong friends I can call to get it up the outside walk up stairs!  ;)
