Caleffi Hydraulic Separator

Does the flow rate through the Hydraulic separator have to be equal to or greater than the maximum flow rate of the boiler? The max flow through the boiler is 13.3 gpm and the 1" separator has a max flow of 11 gpm. Should I get the larger separator with a max flow of 18 gpm?
Thanks

I’d be focused on the actual flow rate. What is that?Steve Minnich0

As @Steve Minnich asked, what is the actual flow rate you will be running? There is some wiggle room in that flow rate, 13 gpm if you in fact run that, should be fine.
The high flow rate number on the boiler may be at a tight ∆T, which you probably are not trying for?Bob "hot rod" Rohr
