Taco ZVC506 zone control

This may be an easy question to answer. Will a taco zone valve control operate both taco and honeywell zone valves on the same system? In other words four taco power heads and two honeywell power heads. A friend asked me this and honestly I don't recall. It's been a few years since I last installed a taco control.

It should be , Taco heat motor is a higher amp .9 than Honeywell .3 amp . Check the VA of the transformer in the control . Say you are using 6 Honeywell zone valves . 24V x.3amp =7.2 VA , 7.2 VA x 6 = 43.2 VA needed . I would like to see a 50VA or higher transformer in the 6 zone control .

Thanks Ed that was my thought .
I'll make a visit and have a look. Seems that here should be enough to operate the power heads. Some has installed a new 506 and then later another 502 because they felt the 506 wasn't enough. Thank you for the reply

The ZVC406 zone valve controller for all brand zonevalves has two 40 VA transformers in it = 80va

The SR 506 switching relay for circulators only has a 20va transformer

I find myself constantly recommending Taco products for this exact reason.

Reverse return and a auto circulator if your building that beast...
