Boiler Cleaning

Based off the recommendations over received I will be draining the boiler, wand cleaning followed by a skim. I already skimmed once prior to as well then fired the boiler. Water is much cleaner but still surges. My question is when I drain and refill should I add some surgemaster while it is empty per the products recommendation or should I only put water in the boiler? Trying to make sure I dont have to do this multiple times and get as dry steam as possible. Thanks.

You have skimmed your boiler? Out of which port?

I used the T per instruction manual and clammys recommendation. Built contraption in attached picture to do it.

Very nice skimmer you made there.

My recommendation is to try about 1/3 of whatever Rectorseal says

@JUGHNE gave me the idea to reduce it from 2" to 1 1/4" so I have to give credit where it is due regarding that. Saved me $20 bucks atleast due to using the smaller nipple and valve as well.
