Well, thats sort of a drop header. It’s at least above the waterline... just barely. Nice foil tape on the flue. Guess they were in a hurry. Couldn’t even put the monster tape on straight.

Not much is right on that one.
Drop "header" too low, Hartford loop horizontal too long, barometric damper wrong, no blow down pipe on relief valve

1" piping on hartford loop. No flue screws. No test hole in flue. Certain that combustion wasn't analysed. The "header" is back pitched, trapping water. Bulhead T at end of " header". Homeowner is older widow. I was there for something else. Told here that I would write up detailed list, with references in IO manual. Hopefully, she can have original installer fix it up. Oil company was responsible for this one.

Top it off, she paid someone to replace all of her radiator air vents. Guy replaced about three of them.

The oil company installer looks like he was looking out for the sale of oil which that piping would use a lot of. Was the IO manual ever opened?

They should put a pipe and cap into the skim tapping at the back of the boiler while they are piping it right.

The installer most be a reader of this site. That's why he was diligent and left the excess blue monster tape hanging from the outside of the pipe and not dangling inside.

Well, it looks like we know what happened to Beavis and Butt-head after their show got cancelled. You can't fix stupid.........

That Peerless should run nicely with a Carlin EZ-Gas in it. Then she could completely rid herself of that oil company.
