What is that, a teaser? And it's out of focus. Looks good from what little we can see. I'm no steam expert by a long shot, but reading the steam pro's posts, why no drop header?0

I offered a drop header for a little more money, they didn’t go for it, as I found out people like to shop and they only here the amount so I try to give prices based on minimum , better and drop header being the best for dryer steam.0

Your header is the same pipe diameter as the 2 risers out of the boiler? Is the kosher on that (Peerless?) boiler?Contact John "JohnNY" Cataneo, NYC Master Plumber, Lic 1784

Yes it is Johnny that’s actually a renamed Weil McLain, union steam. It’s all three inch, I know most people on here practice upsizing the header. One again a price thing, and the original was bottle necked down to 2 inch with no header on one side of it. I would of liked to do a 4 inch header but couldn’t. I just sent the original boiler

Cool. I don't oversize my headers unless there is some compelling reason to do that. I use the guidelines printed in the manual which should really be enough. Great job you've posted. Nice neat work...thank you for the pics.Contact John "JohnNY" Cataneo, NYC Master Plumber, Lic 1784

Looks good @Snowmelt, but it sounds like your profit margin is razor thin. You literally needed (2) more elbows and (2) more nipples to make that a drop header. If you can’t swing that, it sounds like the slightest mishap would result in a loss on this job. Give yourself a little breathing room, and keep up the good work!1
