Dunkirk boiler

I have a older dunkirk boiler that has worked for years without any problems. This year it started acting up, it would go through the startup procedure, main valve would open and gas would flow but no ignition. So I changed the ignitor, seemed to work good but if the boiler sits for any amount of time idle, it will not light. So I watched the boiler, it goes through the startup cycle fine, gas kicks on ( I can hear the gas) ignitor is glowing red and it doesn’t ignite. And it only does this cycle once and all the lights are lit up but the MV light. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hard to tell from here but if is really throwing gas and not lighting with a hot ignitor I would be extreamely cautious.

It could be something simple, but a gas train is something that a qualified pro should handle. I say “qualified” because the average HVAC tech or plumber is usually not.
Find someone with a digital combustion analyzer that knows how to use it.
