Hi Guys. One of my radiator has bad thread. It is so bad that regular 1/8'' tap doesn't work anymore. I looked at internet and found this video that showed to drill a bigger 1/4'' hole and use an ⅛-inch to ¼-inch bushing.

Has anyone done this before, is it relatively easy for an average ppl? I am kind of afraid that I might damage the radiator.

Thanks

I'm a bit above average :D and I wouldn't hesitate to try it. The biggest thing is getting the npt tap. And don't drill a 1/4" hole, drill the size the tap asks for.

Also regarding your concern about damaging the radiator, sounds like it's already damaged!

It's done all the time. Buy the right tap and take your time tapping the hole.
