Microchanell coils

I have a 3 ton split to quote on replacing. The old Carrier lasted 31 years. Not totally unusual in the northeast where units don't see the run time that they do in other parts of the country.
Being old school I would like to stay away from microchanell coils. I think Goodman & Ruud may offer some units with copper tube/aluminum fin coils. Any others??
Being in the north east high efficiency isn't a priority

The York YFD 13 SEER and YFE 14 SEER units are copper tube in fin condensers. I’ve used them for about 5 years now and everyone of them are running great.
Outside of that Goodman is pretty good and I’ll also use Carrier.
You can also go with any ICP products, Day Night, Acroaire, Comfotmaker, these are basically rebranded Carrier products.
Stay away from Nordyne Philips and York products that are micro channel. I don’t like micro channel either although I did install those units back around 2010-2012 I never had any issues associated with the poor micro channel design.DL Mechanical LLC Heating, Cooling and Plumbing 732-266-5386

I cannot force people to spend money, I can only suggest how to spend it wisely.......0 -

Not a lot of MC in residential splits. As mentioned Nordyne is about 100% MC, evaporators and heat pump outdoor coils too. We've had many leakers. Funny that York, 1 of the first with MC, has gone back to fin-tube in a few models. Get into light commercial, you can't get away from the darn stuff.0

@John Mills_5
Thank you. I would just as soon stay away from it. I prefer to let others do my testing for me LOL1
