hey guys. the company i work for is bidding a job and measured all the radiators. problem is i cant' find a single one of them in the EDR book or any of my other resources. wondering if someone out there can help. MOST of the radiators are stamped ARCO vertically on one of the tubes high up and then down low they say AMERICAN and RADIATOR on the outer most tubes. but they are much skinnier than anything i was able to find. for instance the 3 tube radiators are only about 3 1/2 or 3 3/4" wide and the 4 tube ones are about 4 3/4 or 5" wide. they are all 25" inches tall measured from floor to top of sections. there are also Utica radiators and a butler-pierce that i also can not find anything on. anyone have a suggestion? lastly, there is a run of steel fin tube. 1-1/4" pipe, 10 feet long and the fins measure about 3-1/4" square. any help is greatly appreciated. all the ar

I know that there are a lot of guys out there that are more "well versed" on radiation and residential boiler systems than I am. That said, I have in front of me a spec sheet from 1959 showing those exact Arco radiators. Arco stands for American Radiator Company . At some point in history, American Radiator and Standard sanitary joined together to become American standard. My dad, when he was young, around 1940, worked for Standard Sanitary making toilets. Now, the 3 tube x 25" high have 1.6 sq ft / section and the 4 tube x 25" have 2 sq ft/ section. For the heat output of the 1 1/4" steel finned tube the heat output is determined by the design of the enclosure. For example, Slant Fin 93-10 with an H-6 element produces 883 btu/foot. I would send you the spec sheets I have if I knew how. I am not that good on computers.(they are 1 tool that I have not yet mastered).

I do not know how to do that, but I could make a copy and send it to someone if I had an address. I am a little light on computer technology, maybe a lot light.Haha.

Those Arco units are "small-tube" radiators. In "E.D.R.", you can use the Burnham Slenderized charts starting on page 190 or the Weil-McLain Junior Cameo chart on page 177.
