Help! Installed a new Rinnai V65e, has hot water but remote is not working

Hi All,

We recently installed a new Rinnai V65e outdoor gas water heater. The heater makes hot water fine but the remote is not working. It appears that there is no electricity to the remote when it connects to the remote controller terminals since I have two remotes to test it. I wanted to rule out the faulty remote (two new remotes) but both remotes do not turn on.

Everything is working except the remote would not turn on. I have reserach on youtube and it appears once the remote connects to the terminals, it beeps and turns on right away.

Anyone has seen or experienced something like this? Thank you.

    Options
    If it's a wired remote, try wiring it directly with a ≈6' whip after disconnecting the old wiring. Do turn the system off before changing the wiring. Some systems are sensitive to being un/wired while energized (read blow fuses, chips, etc.).
