Dominican Republic hotel deaths - CO ?

Looking at the news reports it appears to me that they are fiddling about with no real idea what is happening. I am not an expert, but it looks to me that the symptoms they are talking about could be CO poisoning. And I can simply be completely wrong. But the news caught my eye. Hotel room. Death with lung symptoms. Unknown cause. Possibly not testing for the right things.

Given the climate there, indoors combustion may be less than we see in the US. They may not have seen much CO issues.

I have tried contacting various media to suggest looking into it with an expert. Even tried the US government. No responses.

If you guys read the information being published about the deaths and can plausibly suggest checking for CO , maybe someone here has access to someone that can do something.
