This one just arrived. Ken Elovitz, along with his brother, Gary, and his late father, Dave, used to send me a monthly calendar on card stock. I wasn't alone; they had a big mailing list. On the back of the calendar each month was a very short story. The guys took turns writing them. Each was a gem. They reminded me of Ed Tidd's Tidd Bits, which had a big influence on my writing (and my hydronics knowledge) when I was starting out. They'd describe a problem job and how they solved it in one easy-to-swallow bite. These are some of the best real-world engineers I have ever known and I learned a lot from reading them. Buy a copy for the bathroom. You won't be sorry.
Retired and loving it.

Hi. Didn't you use to have a place on this website "What am I reading"? Or something like that?

I'm reading the new Cormoran Strike book (Lethal White) by Robert Galbraith (AKA J.K. Rowling). I'm on the library waiting list for the new Slough House book.

Tails from and engineering career is good entertainment although I really can't read the songs and rhymes.

I just started "Thinking in Bets" by Annie Duke. I am only 1/3rd of the way through and it is already on my top 10 all time list.
