I think the present costs of a college education mandates this becomes popular. My degree, dated 1987, cost a grand total of $15k including books, room and board.
But I must say that I have no regrets getting that higher education. The whole experience was more valuable than just the academics.
When Dad forcefully pushed me towards college he said,"....then if you decide to be a mechanic, it would be YOUR choice. Most of us never had a choice and we have to suck it up when 'The Man' tells us to do something we don't want to."
Best. Advice. Ever.
