Radiator Vents

I have Hoffams 1A and Hoffman 40 on my radiators, I know that 1a I can adjust the speed that the steam fills the radiator from 1 to 8, and the Hoffman 40 is a non adjustable speed. Ok my question what setting on the 1a is the same as the 40? I hope that made sense, I am just interested to know.

The Hoffman 1a is hard yo adjust because of the sloppy fit on the adjustable bonnet, make sure the bonnet is centered or the vent rate can be pretty far off the markings.
