Hello wall,

I just bought some Hoffman 1a air vents, new in box, on ebay. I was expecting Hoffman brand, and indeed they say "Hoffman Specialty" imprinted on the actual metal vents. But the cardboard boxes that they came in on the outside say "Bell and Gossett, a xylem brand". Did I get original Hoffman vents? Are they as good as the old ones?

    If I'm not mistaken, Hoffman Specialty, McDonnell Miller, and Bell & Gossett are all owned and operated by Xylem Water. So yes, you got the right part.

    Hoffman Specialty, McDonnell & Miller and Bell & Gossett were once independent companies. ITT acquired them at some point, then recently spun them off into Xylem. Typical corporate acquisitions and divestments.
