    From what I read here on the wall, the Safeguard gives the LWCO protection with out the short cycling of what is considered the PITA of the Cycleguard.
    It is printed on the cover of the LWCO.

    Thanks for clarifying the difference between safeguard and cycleguard. So based from those info you gave. Safegaurd may not be the cause of short cycle but it must be the pressuretrol then. I'm I right?

    When you get your 0-3 psi gauge on, you can see the pressure come up to near what the P-troll is adjusted for. Then you can realize what is cycling the boiler burner.
    If I understand correctly the Safeguard will not cut out the burner until a true low water condition, whereas the Cycleguard will stop the burner and check the water level then restart the burner.
    What does it say on the front of the LWCO?
