Black Particles in Hot Water

I have a Buderus L135 Water Heater. Black particles are appearing in hot water. Recently had unit cleaned and installed new Mg Anode rod. Black particles are still showing up. When dry, particles are dust like. When I run cold water, no black particles. Water is from a well and flows through a Culligan water softener. Has any one experienced this? Help!

I suspect the softener is a big part of the problem.

Hi, Do you have any braided stainless flex lines? The rubber inside can deteriorate and cause what you're seeing.
