    Clock repair and refurbishment is a rather specialized art. Not quite what we caveman wrench pounders are used to! Your best bet will be to try to find someone in your area who is capable of taking the clock mechanism apart, cleaning it, putting new bushings in where needed, and quite possibly replacing the main spring. These people are hard to find... I have a good man, but he's a)very busy and c) very local!

    Warning: there are a lot of wannabes out there. Don't. If you ever want the clock to work again...

    I'd actually would consider going to a jeweler who specializing in antique clocks/watches. They definitely have the skill and knowledge (and tools) and would probably get a kick out of fixing it (but not for free).
