Weld 8” leaking joint?

Piped together a 800k steamer 2 years ago. Now there’s a pretty good leak at a 8” threaded joint. Is there any chance I can just weld this joint? Really can’t unthread it.
Just a guy running some pipes.

I couldn't -- but I'll bet you can. Just remember that if you do, it surely isn't going to come apart again...

What sort of pressure is this getting up to for it to leak?—NBC

Not without a grinder and a whole lot of patience...

I'd weld it. Be sure the fitting is steel and not cast. You can tell by the sparks that come from grinding a bit of it. Steel makes big sparks and iron makes small sparks.

But for that matter, with very low pressure you can probably get away with MIGing the cast.....just dont tell anyone.....😁

That is the reason that we weld anything from 2 1/2 inches.
