Wow... put a huge smile on my face!!
    Classic Zeppelin too.... :)

Let's hope he never goes down the same self-destructive path Bonzo and Keith Moon took.

Just want to jump in and point out that he is in fact a SHE.

As a drummer myself, I'm envious of that kind of talent at such a young age. Love this video!

While we're on the subject of drummers, here's a Guitar Center drum-off with "Mighty Max" Weinberg of the E Street Band and his son, Jay. The tune is "Sing Sing Sing" by Benny Goodman. Great stuff!

Didn't know about it. Now there was a guy who lived as hard as he played. Keith Moon was like that, too- unfortunately, he died way too young. So many others did too. Which is why I enjoy the ones who've lasted.

It's always cool to see this go down through generations. Max and Jay aren't the only example of that in the E Street Band- Clarence Clemons' nephew Jake took over on sax when his uncle died.

This was the first time Jay sat in for his dad. The guy in the black shirt who appears at the lower right, near the ramp, is Max watching his son:

I like music more than I like hydronics. I never stopped buying vinyl starting at age 8...The Monkees. I have a reel to reel, a cassette player, 2 turntables, a modern day Marantz receiver, an old school Pioneer receiver but no 8 track player anymore. I don't believe there's a bad genre of music other than opera. For me, it's painful. I like Bach, Dre, The Statler Brothers, Muddy Waters, Miles Davis, and Jim Croce. But at the end of the day, it's all rock 'n roll.

Two really good reads are the Zeppelin book "Hammer of the Gods" and the Doors book "No One Here Gets Out Alive". Both are real eye-openers!

Not to go off on too much of a tangent here, but my kids listen to and could name almost every band mentioned here (btw daughter is 21, son is 23). It's normal for me, but most people assume thst no "young" people listen to 60's and 70's music. For reference, the kid's first concert was Steely Dan about nine years ago. Second "concert" was with Pop (Ken) at the Village Vanguard in NYC.

^ it can go both ways...
My 22yo loves classic rock... Yes, Queen, etc...
My 21yo likes trance/EDM, etc.. and dislikes classic rock.

I'm fortunate... I like both types. So when I drive with one I play 70's and 80's stations, when I drive with the other I play BPM, Utopia, etc.. on the SXM radio.

I studied Moon, none of the others hold a candle, he was a jekyll and hyde, most of what you heard about Moon is a lie, a cover story by band management, he was arrested and institutionalized many times, Steve McQueen lived next to him and had him arrested for a variety of things including voyeurism on Ali MAcGraw. This video just touches on one issue and how bad he was, if he didn't have a drink in like 6 hours he'd have convulsions. He had accidentally killed his chauffeur body guard once and carried that and I think he was on a self destructive mission over that and finally killed himself, it's rated as accidental overdose but that's bull. He had 30 undigested Heminevrin's in his stomach which means he took 50 or so.

Mike Meyers was signed to do the movie but legal issues have stopped it because the real Keith is not the R&R hero, it's very dark.

^ your description of Moon seems to confirm what I knew about him. He was troubled in many ways... not much of a chance for him to make it to old age. I always thought Bellboy was the perfect song for Keith.

Bonzo wasn't that much different, although I don't think he was ever committed? He was big on booze and pills, he drove like a maniac, got in lots of brawls, and always partied hard... he came close to overdosing many times according to first hand accounts.

Morrison had a fascination with death, he was actively trying to "break on through to the other side" for many years before he finally did himself in.

It's a shame because all three were extremely talented, but destructive personalities like theirs never age well... or sometimes not at all :/

I like a lot of music..
My favorite is, and has been techno / electronic for a very long time.

But I also listen to Zeppelin, Rush, Floyd etc.

Sometimes I'll go from The Andrews Sisters, to Eminem, to Zeppelin, to Rammstein to Jean Michel Jarre. I have a very wide variety.

I'm 37......but i don't think taste in music is really related to age.

I'm curious if @Steamhead is familiar with Jean Michel Jarre?

I've heard of M. Jarre, not that familiar with his work.

But if you like electronic music, I believe this was one of the first of that genre:

Side note: This supposedly formed the basis for the "Futurama" TV show theme music.

    I wonder if that's true.

My SL-1800MK2 used to have a quartz lock, that unless disabled, the speed was rock solid. I would assume all 1200 series are similar, even knockoffs. I also think the row used was the third one down.

Is that an effect from the cameras refresh rate?

My 1800 was basically a 1200 with built in suspension. I wonder if Jstar has finally put it to good use.

How did we get from some great music to ( puke)???

back to Moon, when the band was recording Who's Next they had a meeting and told Moon that the company would no longer pay for his arrests, restitution, private flight to catch up with the band. damages, etc.

At the end of the WN tour the other three went home with $450,000 each, Moon's cut after expenses was $50,000.

Oh, I'm sorry, because what we're talking about doesn't fit your limited, narrow taste in music it must be "puke".

Yes, let's discuss drug addicts and criminals instead. Like Bon Scott who suffocated on his own puke.

    Hmm.

@Steamhead and @1Matthias thank you for sharing the puke. I appreciated it, never heard that song before.
