Hope everyone is going to have a great holiday weekend! I just had a meeting with my client, GC and Home automation company. The client has been looking into whole controls and system integration. Understand this is a large 2nd home with the owner living in Florida. I am trying to educate the client on radiant floor heating and leaving the thermostats alone. He says he is listening to me but I know he is not as he wants programmable thermostats. Does anyone know you recent articles written about radiant operation and set and forget control. He is a very intelligent client, but he won't listen to me. Thanks

Off topic... I installed a nice heating system for one client. Mod con Bosch green star combi, mix of runtal radiators and radiant floors. When he saw mechanical room, he said that that boiler looks complicated. He asked what should he push to make adjustments? I told him if he asks that question again, I’m bringing my own door lock and keeping the key, in order to prevent him getting his hands on that unit. LOL. Told him to control his comfort via thermostats or better yet leave them alone

That's one thing people can't seem to grasp... the best t-stat for a mod-con is an old school mechanical non-programmable thermostat.
I set ours at 69F and never touch it... just no need and certainly no need for any home automation there either.

I have over 700 of these in the field with no failures. The owner just cant get over no knowing the temperature

I wouldn't be surprised at something like this with some of the more sophisticated thermostats!
