Trianco Heatmaker Intermittent Bang

I've got a Triango Heatmarker Mark II. The good news is it functioning fine and is 20 years old. The other news is that is has developed a nasty habit of making a very loud bang at times. Obviously not is all well in the boiler, but it produces domestic hot water like a champ. And ideas why it would have a single, intermittent bang when in the mid to latter stages of regenerating hot water? Thanks for any insights.

99% sure that is an delayed ignition issue.
When was the last time it was cleaned and serviced?
I had one unit that I replaced that was doing that.
It was an LP gas unit too....
Parts are hard to find for them... They had their place.

Needs to be pulled apart and cleaned, check igniter, may be weak igniter.

If you ever need parts, I have a fair amount.

Laars bought Heatmaker in 2000. They sold it under the Endurance brand after that. They may have kept selling Heatmakers in some markets, I have not seen a post 2000 heatmaker in the US.

That being said, I suspect your boiler is 28+ years old. I would not spend significant money repairing a heatmaker of that vintage. It is well past it's expected service life.
