Has Anybody Noticed If Newly Installed VXT Feeders Sound Louder Than Older Units?

The last few new VXTs we've installed have evinced a high pitched screeching noise when feeding.
I suspect that the recent redesign in the solenoid's flow restrictor is the cause. The older model didn't seem to make this noise.

Has anybody else noticed the same issue? Thanks for your time.

Had a similar issue with a McDonnell 47-2. Had too high flow velocity and screeched loudly. Pinched the supply valve back until the screeching went away. Still feeds fine.

Sounds almost like the solenoid is hanging up.

We had one that did that awhile back. Putting in a new one on Thursday, -I'll advise how that goes.

Hum. Maybe that is just an extra feature to remind the homeowner that the feeder is feeding. Just joking

@STEAM DOCTOR : One customer can hear that VXT screech on the second floor when it goes off at 0400 hrs.

Fortunately, that system is tight and uses very little water.

With VXT's new flow restrictor, it might have lowered the pressure/flow/noise threshold. That is to say, it may be that at water pressures below, say, 55 psi, there is no screech.

@Gordo. Wow. Thats extreme. I haven't had an issue with the VXTS that I put in. That said, low water pressure is common in a lot of my service areas. I also do not put in an awful lot of them. I remove many more Auto feeders then I put in. I am not a big Auto feeder fan.
