My plumber checked for a hot wire by touching the hot? wire with his index finger and a neutral wire with his thumb. When I exclaimed he could get electrocuted, he said no, as the current wasn’t flowing through his heart like it would if he touched the hot? wire with his right hand and the neutral with his left. He is still with us, but I don’t follow his example, even though I have been known to do my own wiring from time to time.

Got to admit I use the hand on the pipe trick to check for a trap which is open which shouldn't be... I'm not as good as your old timer, but I can usually tell the difference between hot condensate (ouch!) and steam leaking (YEOUCH!).

The Doctor, noticing the scars on my forearms asked ,"do you use drugs?"I had to reply, "yes, but that's not where those scars came from" Badge of honor for a master.

It’s me, can’t quite really prove there are no additives on my fingers. This was a breeze, didn’t have to squirm at the end
