I have a Weil McLean 600,000 low pressure steam system. I am having difficulties in finding replacement end of line air vents. The air vents I have came from the Trane Company in Canada and are no longer available. They are the 3/4 inch size air vents that have a replaceable bellow inside. No company in Canada has them and am now looking at places in the States that may still carry this type of air vent. If anyone knows what company still offers this, or any other 3/4 inch air vents with replaceable bellows please advise.

Thanks

You can replace those quite happily -- as you have noted, the exact replacement isn't around any more, but I would put a pair of Gorton #2s on each location instead. I note that your clearances in both locations are a bit tight. What I would do is assemble the pair of Gortons on a T arrangement -- centre of the arrangement being a T with the leg down and a nipple (we'll get to that). Two nipples, one going out to each side, and two 90s turned up, and two short nipples and reducers, one on each side, and the Gortons on top of that, turned parallel to the pipe in between. Then on the leg going down, put half a union, with the other half on a nipple coming up from the present location of the vent. Then you can assemble the union without having to turn the Gortons. With the added advantage that it gets them up and out of the way of any odd water coming along the horizontal...

Also, each of the Gortons will vent about four times faster than the Tranes. This will make the system heat up much more quickly, saving fuel.
