Removing a damaged Hot Water Radiator Section

I have several old cast iron radiators and would like to removed the sections that are broken because they froze from a boiler failure. Is this possible and if so, how do I do this, what parts might I need, etc.

On some types of radiators it is easy. If they have outside tie rods running from end to end -- usually four, two top, two bottom -- undo the nuts holding them (carefully -- they can break very easily). Then you can persuade the sections to come apart. Again, gently does it. You may not need any new parts, if you are just planning to create a shorter radiator from the undamaged sections.Br.
