Really bad whining noise when gas valve is open

Hello everyone. I have a 30 year old laars mini-therm boiler 50000BTU with 2 zones and a single pump, last year i noticed a faint whining noise coming out when boiler is firing, now that noise is driving my wife crazy and therefore i am going crazy. Initially i thought its the pump, but when boiler is at 160F and gas valve is off i can hear the pump turning without any issues while T-stat is calling for heat. Is it possible for the gas valve to make that type of noise or am i dealing with dirty burners

I suspect you are hearing microflashes in the heat exchanger caused by low water flow or internal scaling."If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough"
