The old beast. I clocked it at 225,000. New one is 151,000. Plus the semi modern gas water heater was replaced with an indirect.
I wish the gas Co would offer brownie points for dropping BTUs off of their distribution system. Most schmoes replace like for like1 -
Looks good!!
Me thinks the old Walworth's are drain fittings.0 -
Love the way you placed the hy-vents on top of shut off valves.
Great idea!

fwiw, that hose bibb on top----the heating circ wasn't pumping till we ran that hose to a bucket (big ball valve off of course). So if you all do this trick, make sure you can power purge the pump to get it going. I simply installed this in case the boiler needed service; we could get get all the air out and not drain/fill the entire system (hours!)0

good question=======I didn't pay attention to the rads. What's a good tip to tell? I suppose the tape-dope would be newer on one side. I really think it was an original grav hw system. pipe right to the attic too.0

The only time I saw one of those was on a steam system...Danny Scully said:Hmm. Was that originally steam?
