Hoffman Differential Loop Vapor Replacement

This vintage 1983 Weil has served her purpose. Economite gas conversion burner. Time for retirement. Very close quarters to work in, with a hot water basement loop as well. Patience...
The original boiler must have been quite a beast. When they took that out and put this one in, they just did a cut and paste job with a single 2" copper riser to the original header. Take a peek at the Hartford loop. Or should I say Gifford loop?! Anyway, that old header has to go...
I was surprised to find a Gorton No.2 doing the venting, which will work just fine I think:
I think I've got the new header piping about figured out:
Let's get started...

Boiler was between a Weil EG or a Peerless 63. I originally intended to put the gauges and controls on the right, and the hot water loop on the left, so I was going to go with the Peerless. But I wanted to use a coil for the loop, and Peerless doesn't offer one for steam. So, an EG-55 with gauges and controls on the left, and loop on the right. Except, just as in war, no plan survives the first contact with the enemy. (Like that? Military metaphor on Veteran's Day?). Once we got to building the returns, the space for the loop (or better stated, the space for me) evaporated. So everything got crammed onto the left side. Very tight...
Word to the wise: An EG steamer with a coil isn't available PEG. Which I didn't realize and didn't plan for the extra time to assemble and wire everything...
But at least it came out well. 3" risers into 4" dropped header, @Dave0176 's gauge header, trap test station, VXT, and all the rest:

Ah! But beauty lies in the beholder. And the most important beholder of all is the owner. Who cares not for piping as we do, but cares greatly about his monthly bills!New England SteamWorks
