What schedule pipe for an equalizer

I have a Weil McLain LGB-6 steam boiler. A section of pipe and a fitting on the equalizer are rusting on the outside to the effect of a leak. What schedule pipe should be used? The boiler was installed around 1997. I run it at 4 oz. cut-in and 10 oz cut-out with a Vaporstat, but I assume that's not relevant to this pipe issue.

Most use schedule 40 pipe on all residential work. It lasted 20 years so replace it with 40. You will probably replace the boiler before the pipe lets go again
