Best pipe sealant for boiler work? Rectorseal or Gasolia

Options
I am not a pro but do work at home and the cost of this really isn't a big deal. I have used rectorseal often with no issues but for boiler work or even cold water work is gasoila a better choice?

Everyone has a favorite and their is no right or wrong. Whatever works for you.

You just have to make sure whatever dope you use is compatible with the system your working on.

Some products can't be used on plastic pipe. Some can't be used with propane gas.....just have to read the label.

That being said I like Rectorseal TRUE BLUE. It works on pretty much everything. I use it over Teflon tape (regular I don't like blue monster) usually (except on oil burner lines).

The only thing I don't like is it sucks getting it off your hands!!

Got some in my hair and it wouldn't come out till I got a haircut.

On 4” fittings and larger it’s old school Lamp Wick and Blue Block. On everything up to 3” I use Blue Monster Tape and Megaloc dope. Never had a leak!!...
