    Amazing what it takes to build such a structure. Even more amazing how they built the Golden Gate Bridge, Empire State Building, Hoover Dam etc. in the "old days"


    They didn't have the tools and equipment that is available now

    Seems like I've spent a lot of time stuck in traffic at the Tappan Zee on trips to New England for college and to visit relatives. Seems like a lot of the congestion went away now they are100% EZ Pass/ Plate tolling

    So out-of-towners can't use that bridge if they don't have EZ-Pass?

    I've been following this -- now for a tale of my own (which will date me) -- I watched the original bridge being built from my house, which was on a hill in Dobbs Ferry. Had a perfect view up the river of the construction, and it was fascinating. When they were hoisting the final span into position I borrowed a boat and motored up there to watch the show!
