Steam Radiator - Single Loud Bang

I have a steam radiator in my dinning room, where after 20 minutes of the heat kicking on, there will be a single loud bang. I suspect it's the radiator expanding on the hardwood floor. When it makes the sound, I can feel it in my feet. Any solutions on how to reduce or prevent this?

Try placing a small square of plastic cut from a plastic milk jug under each foot. Sometimes works wonders. Sometimes not -- but it's a cheap fix.Br. Jamie, osb

You also can use furniture coasters. They do wonders. I have them under my radiators and no more expansion noises.0
