Honeywell Thermostat

I have an infloor radiant heat system with 2 wall thermostats. The one shown below in the link lights up on its own from time to time. haven't noticed this before until tonight. Is this normal or something strange going on. Its is a Honeywell T8775A,C The Digital Round Non-Programmable Thermostat. The only time the backlit normally comes on is if I turn it to adjust it or push in on it.

    Just judging by the manual, I'd say something strange. Does the display change when it lights up by itself? for example, the little flame thingy turn on?
